BEKASI CITY, Derapdetik.com – The Indonesian Journalists Association (PWRI) Kota Bekasi branch attended the Sulang Sulang Hariapan and Ulos Matua ceremony held in honor of Ny. S. Sianturi Br. Siburian’s 81st birthday on January 17, 2026, at Grand Graha Delima II, Bekasi City.

The event is a significant tradition in Batak culture, where Sulang Sulang Hariapan is a ritual of serving food to elderly parents as a sign of respect, while Ulos Matua is a sacred cloth given to elderly individuals whose children are all married, symbolizing deep respect and ancestral blessings.
Rizal Altis, Secretary of PWRI Kota Bekasi, conveyed congratulations and prayers for Ny. S. Sianturi, emphasizing that advanced age is a blessing from God. “On behalf of PWRI Kota Bekasi, we wish Ny. S. Sianturi a happy 81st birthday. May she be blessed with health, long life, and joy with her family,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by family members, relatives, and guests from various regions in Indonesia and abroad, with over 500 attendees. The event began with prayers for Ny. S. Sianturi’s health and well-being, followed by traditional ceremonies and a celebration with the guests.
